The 2025 BILD Awards took place on May 29 in Vaughan, celebrating excellence in home building, design, marketing, sales, and people in the Greater Toronto Area. Over 700 entries were judged by a panel of 51 North American experts across 50 award categories, including architecture, innovation, and community building.
At the top of the night, two standout builders were honored: The Daniels Corporation earned “Home Builder of the Year – Mid/High-Rise,” while Great Gulf took “Home Builder of the Year – Low-Rise.” Great Gulf also received two additional accolades: “Low-Rise Project of the Year” for their Oakpointe development in Oakville, a project done with Arista Homes, and “Low-Rise Green Builder of the Year.”
Among builders focused on sustainability, Tridel won “Green Builder of the Year – Mid/High-Rise,” reflecting its leadership in electrified, low-carbon condo units. Great Gulf also earned the same green builder award in the low-rise category, further highlighting its commitment to sustainable construction.
Project awards included “Project of the Year – Low-Rise” awarded to Oakpointe by Arista Homes and Great Gulf in Upper Joshua Creek, and “Project of the Year – Mid/High-Rise” to One Roxborough West by North Drive Investments, a luxury 12-storey condo in Toronto’s Summerhill neighborhood.
Design, marketing, and social leadership were also celebrated. Notable winners included Assembly Corp. for the Angelo DelZotto Fearless Innovator Award, Sam Condo of Weston Flooring for the Ignat Kaneff Inspiration Award, and Adrian Rocca of Fitzrovia for the Riley Brethour Leadership Award. Fitzrovia also earned the Stephen Dupuis CSR Award, while marketing and building design awards went to names like Equiton Developments, Devron, and The Rose Corporation.
The highest honor of the evening, the Lifetime Achievement Award, went to Howard Sokolowski, founder and CEO of Metropia. With over 30 years in development and more than 14,000 residential units led by his companies, Sokolowski’s leadership and long-standing impact on the industry were recognized as truly outstanding.
