Ontario Real Estate And Development Industry Moves and Hires

Ontario Real Estate And Development Industry Moves and Hires

Ontario's real estate and development sector experienced significant leadership shifts in April 2025, reflecting ongoing transformations in the industry. Don Kottick, formerly President and CEO of Sotheby's Canada, assumed the role of President at RE/MAX Canada, succeeding Christopher Alexander. In the public sector, Abi Bond stepped down as Executive Director of Toronto's Housing Secretariat, marking a notable change in the city's housing leadership.

The development sector witnessed several key appointments. Heather Murphy joined KingSett Capital as Director of Retail Asset Management, while John-Bosco Agbasi was promoted to Managing Director of Asset Management at Fengate Asset Management. Emily Long transitioned to BGO as Vice President of Portfolio Management after nearly a decade at Crestpoint. Additionally, Alexander Turner became Director of Capital Markets at Choice Properties REIT, and Matthew Lee took on the role of Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis at Chartwell Retirement Residences.

In brokerage firms, CBRE saw multiple changes: Maya Zor was promoted to Assistant General Counsel and Head of Legal & Corporate Secretary; Kyle Wilson joined the Toronto Downtown Office as Assistant Vice President; and Connor Rudka became Senior Planner in the Land Services Group. At JLL, Vince Brown was appointed Executive Managing Director of Property Management, effective May 21, and Rob Hart was promoted to Vice President, leading the Corporate Workplace team for Central Canada.

Colliers welcomed back Myles Kenny as Vice President, Sales Representative of the Private Capital Investment team in Toronto, and Amanda Fediuc started as Managing Director for Toronto North. Sotheby’s International Realty Canada appointed Stefani Penner as Regional Managing Broker for Southwestern Ontario. Nick Calla joined Avison Young as a Market Intelligence Analyst. Lennard Commercial Realty expanded its team with several hires, including Kevin Beaudry as Senior Vice President and Richard Shouldice as Vice President.

These appointments indicate a dynamic period for Ontario's real estate industry, with firms strengthening their leadership teams to navigate the evolving market landscape. The influx of experienced professionals into key roles suggests a strategic focus on growth and adaptation amid changing economic conditions.

As the industry continues to evolve, these leadership changes are expected to influence the direction of real estate development and brokerage services in Ontario. Stakeholders will be watching closely to see how these new appointments shape the province's real estate landscape in the coming months.
